Marlborough Open Studios 2011

Marlborough Open Studios is an artist-led initiative with 57 artists opening their studios and workshops to visitors, inviting art lovers to discover and explore their different disciplines, techniques, and inspirations.

Wagon Yard Artists has 4 artists exhibiting this year.

Visitors will find ceramicist and illustrator Jacqui Melhuish whose exciting work can be commissioned and bought through out the year. Combining the two disciplines of illustration and ceramics give Jacqui's work a narrative and often reflects memories and sayings making for great gifts that will stand the test of time.

Wagon Yard is also host to water colour artist Colin Palmer who is renowned for his architectural illustrations. Some fantastic paintings of Marlborough High Street can be seen in various pubs and hotels throughout the town.

New to the Wagon Yard collective is landscape painter Kate Wade who works in both oils and water colour. Often described as a ‘window view’, Kate injects colour and surface texture into her work, drawing on her training as a textile designer.

The fourth artist at Wagon Yard is ceramicist Mary Thorne whose vessels and tiles reflect the Wiltshire landscape painted and sketched on the surface.

Wagon Yard Artists will be open:

Saturdays – July 2, 9, 16 and 23 from 11am to 4pm.
Sundays – July 3, 10, 17, and 24 from 11am to 4pm.
